Kourtney is a native of Alexandria, Louisiana where she began dancing at the age of six. She received her early training as a studio dancer studying ballet, Pointe, jazz, some tap and competitive dance. She was also a member of Alexandria Senior High School's Dance team for four years and Co-Captain her Senior year.
Kourtney received her formal dance education from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette Louisiana, where she also earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Kourtney studied ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz and musical theatre.
She performed choreographed works under the direction of Professor Kenneth Jenkins, Director of Dance, and assistant professors, Marie Broussard and Khristi Carr. She also performed professional works choreographed by Chard Gonzales, Tara Brewer, Anna Morris and Mathew Couvillion.
Kourtney was also a member of the UL Lafayette Ragin Jazz team under coach and choreographer Michelle Bernard.
Kourtney received her first choreography job at the age of 15 for her high schools production of Guys and Dolls. While in college, she choreographed contemporary works of her own such as Deep Rooted Faith, and Churchin’.
Kourtney enhanced her dance studies by attending the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre Summer Intensive. She danced professionally for Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Rod Rodgers Dance Company in New York City and Hello Kitty National Tour. Freelance Choreographer and Coach who recently became a Company Member of Terrance M. Johnson Dance Project in Dallas, TX.
